“The Little Engine That Could” Story by Watty Piper

Once upon a time, there was a little blue engine who lived in a town far away. She was very kind and always eager to help others in need. One day, the little blue engine was asked to do a very important job. She was asked to carry a load of toys and food to the children on the other side of the mountain.

At first, the little blue engine was scared. She had never traveled up and over such a big mountain before. But she knew that the children needed their toys and food, so she agreed to try her best. As she began to climb the mountain, the little blue engine repeated to herself, “I think I can, I think I can.”

The journey was tough, and the little blue engine struggled up the steep mountain. But she never gave up. She kept saying to herself, “I think I can, I think I can.” As she reached the top of the mountain, the little blue engine was tired but determined to finish her important job.

With a deep breath, she began to travel down the other side of the mountain. The journey was much easier now, and soon the little blue engine arrived at the other side, where the children were eagerly waiting for their toys and food.

The children were so happy to see the little blue engine and to receive their gifts. They thanked her for her hard work, and the little blue engine felt proud of herself. She realized that even though the journey had been difficult, she had been brave and had succeeded in helping others.

From that day on, the little blue engine knew that no job was too big or too scary if she just believed in herself and said, “I think I can, I think I can.” And she continued to help others in need, bringing joy and happiness to children all around the world.

The end.
